GENERAL INFORMATION

Citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives are reminded that, even if they have the right to submit their applications in the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi, they can do so in the corresponding Embassies and Consulates of France in their respective countries that represent Spain in this matter.

Granting a visa is a prerogative of the Embassy in every case. Having submitted “all the documents” does not imply a “right” for the visa to be granted.
If the applicant is going to travel to different countries of the Schengen area, he must consider that the competent state for processing the visa will be, in this order:
The state of main destination.
The Country more related to the purpose or main reason of the trip.
The country in whose territory the visit will be longest.
The state of first entry.
You must please submit your application well in advance before your trip.
The time period to process the visa will not be reduced in any case.
Once the scrutiny of the file is done, any of the following situations may be given:
- The visa applied for is granted.
- The applicant is required to provide further documents.
- The application is summoned for a personal interview.
- The application is rejected.
- For groups of more than twenty persons you must previously contact the visa Section of the Embassy or I.V.S.
